1. (–) 2PM – Without U*** 2 WEEKS NO. 1 ***

Comment: 2PM holds on to No. 1 for the second straight week with “Without U”. Now officially a 6-member group, 2PM is back with their 3rd single album titled “Don’t Stop, Can’t Stop”. Once again, Park Jin Young produced their latest single that shows the more deeper and mature musical side. The title track, “Without U” is about how a man is hurt by a woman’s lies and betrayal. To express the emotion of hurt in a break up, a piano melody is repeated in the song. You will be able to see how the members have changed into a more mature, modern and chic without forgetting to show their ‘2PM style’ in music.

Comment: Title song of Lee Hyo-ri’s 4th album “H-Logic.” Based on the powerful sound of Southern hip hop, the song signals the brilliant comeback of K-Pop queen Lee Hyo-ri. Album: Hot Potato “Seesaw OST” Track 3
Comment: Hot Patato continues their amazing run on the chart and moves up two more spots to No. 3 with “Confession”, becoming the group’s biggest hit. Hot Potato’s Kim C, who was very surprised at how well this song is doing in the music charts. Their latest album “Seesaw” contains songs with both sweet love and sad endings.

4. (–) Secret – Magic

Album: Secret 1st mini-album “Secret Time” Track 2
Comment: This is the title track of Secret’s 1st mini-album “Secret Time.” It is an electronic pop dance number that was written by the hit-makers Kang Ji-won, Kim Ki-beom and Sinsadong Horangi. Comment: Many Superstar K contestants have debuted in the music industry now. Seo In Kook being the winner was the first one debuting last year with the R&B single “Calling You”. Now he officially releases his first mini-album “Just Beginning”. The title track is “Love U” which music lovers were able to see teasers of prior to the album’s release. The music video stars actress Kim Min Jung. “Love U” is different from his debut song “Calling You” as it is a medium tempo dance track that is well suited for the summer season. It is our biggest mover this week, up 21 spots to No. 5.

6. (-3) Rain – 널 붙잡을 노래 (Love Song)

Comment: Title song of Rain’s 6th album, “Back To The Basic.”
A beautiful song with piano accompaniment with music and lyrics written by Rain himself. The sad ballad has touching lyrics about a man who is trying to convince his lover not to leave. Actress Han Ye-seul has perfect chemistry with Rain in the music video. (credits to Arirang TV – Pops In Seoul)

7. (New) Gummy – 남자라서 (Because I’m A Man) *** HOT SHOT DEBUT ***

Genre: R&B Ballad

Album: Gummy mini-album “Loveless” Track 4
Comment: This is the title song of Gummy’s mini-labum “Loveless” and it replaces “There Is No Love” on the chart. “Because I’m A Man.” is not Gummy’s usual R&B song, it’s a hiphop R&B song that has strong beats. The song shows womens’ perspectives when men slowly show their selfishness as time passes. The MV of this song stars SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong and Jung Ryu Won. It is our highest debut this week at No. 7.

8. (–) Suh Young Eun (with Jung Yup) – 이 거지같은말 (Those “Good-For-Nothing” Words)

Album: Suh Young Eun digital single “With” Track 1
Comment: A surprised hot shot debut this week but not that surprising considered that this song is ranked very high on every internet charts in Korea. One of the great female vocalists in Korea, Suh Young Eun, teams up with Brown Eyed Soul’s Jung Yup to produce a wonderful duet ballad “Those Good-For-Nothing Words”. Suh Young Eun says that this song was made but without a title. Finally, she came up with the title after inspiration from current ongoing hit drama “Cinderella Sister.” This week, Suh Young Eun made rare appearances on gayo shows to promote this song due to its popularity. 9. (-2) After School – 뱅 (Bang!)

Album: After School 3rd single Track 2
Comment: Title song of After School’s third digital single album. After School’s powerful vocals, a dynamic drum beat and rhythm come together to create a catchy and passionate pop song. 10. (+8) F(x) – NU 예삐오 (Nu Abo)

Album: F(x) mini-album “Nu Abo” Track 1
Comment: Pop dance group, f(x) returns this month with their first mini album. Last September, the girls had debuted with their first digital single, “Lachata” and were able to show off their individual charms and skills. This new album has a total of six tracks of top notch where the girls are able to show off a strong performance and color. The title song “Nu Abo” is a fresh dance number that injects “new blood” into K-pop. This week it moves up eight spots into the top 10.

11. (New) Davichi – 시간아 멈춰라 (Time, Stop)

Album: Davichi mini-album “Innocence” Track 1
Comment: Davichi is back with their latest mini-album “Innocence”. The title track “Time, Stop” is written by Hitman Bang Shi Hyuk, who has written many hit songs recently. Like their last hit song “8282”, “Time, Stop” also starts with a ballad like melody and then make a 180 degree turn on the chrous part to become an up-tempo song. This week it debuts at No. 11.

12. (-3) Monday Kiz – 흩어져 (Scattered)

Genre: R&B Ballad

Album: Monday Kiz digital single “New Sentimental” Track 1
Comment: Monday Kiz returns after the tragic loss of their member, Kim Min Soo in 2008. The group returns with Lee Jin Sung plus two new members and the song, “Scattered.” From the beginning, the three member’s vocals are reminiscent of the late Kim Min Soo’s. “Scattered” is written by Han Sang Won who also wrote the group’s previous hits like “Footstep” and ‘”Destiny. “Scattered” dropped three spots to No. 12 this week but it may rise again with the release of Monday Kiz’s 4th album.

13. (-2) Bobby Kim – 남자답게 (Like A Man)

Comment: Bobby Kim’s third album covers various genres such as R&B, folk, soul, rock and pop. The title song, “Like A Man” is a song with Latin rhythms that is cool and soaks your heart. It is our biggest mover this week. The song is about how a man should live proudly like a man but at times can be weaker than a woman. Bobby Kim said that this album is about joy, love and loss of his life put altogether. He hopes that his fans will be able to find hope and their dreams from his album. Bobby Kim’s songs are known for its longevity. Expect this song to stay on the chart for a long time.

14. (+8) Ye Sung (Super Junior) – 너 아니면 안돼 (Can’t Be But You: KBS Drama “Cinderella’s Sister” OST)

Album: KBS Drama “Cinderella’s Sister” OST Track 1
Comment: With good album sales on “Cinderella’s Sister” drama OST, Ye Sung’s “Can’t Be But You” returns to the top 20 this week and reaches its highest ranking so far at No. 14. This drama stars Moon Geun Young delivers a compelling performance as the older “evil” stepsister. Chun Jeong Myung, making his post-army comeback, and 2PM’s Ok Taec Yeon, making his acting debut.

Comment: This is the title track of Girls’ Generation’s 2nd repackaged studio album. It features intense and rough synth-pop sounds and charismatic vocals, and represents the powerful charm of the group members. The lyrics are about a warning to a naughty boyfriend. 16. (+5) Kim Yoon Ah – Going Home

Comment: Jaurim’s lead singer Kim Yoon Ah releases her third album 315360, six years after her last solo album. With marriage and the birth of a child, Kim Yoon Ah took this album to express her life as a woman. As an established singer songwriter she has took herself to another level. Through this album you will able to meet a Kim Yoon Ah you’ve never met before. Unlike Jaurim’s rock music, Kim Yoon Ah’s solo work is focusing on jazz style easy listening ballads. The title song “Going Home” has a very beautiful melody accompanied by Kim Yoon Ah’s smooth vocals. The song discovers the importance of family. True music lovers should appreciate this song.

17. (+2) 2AM – 바보처럼 (Like A Fool: MBC Drama “Personal Taste” OST)

Comment: MBC Drama “Personal Taste” has already had five different songs on the chart. The sixth hit by 2AM “Like A Fool” moves up two spots to No. 17 this week. Perhaps riding 2AM’s popularity so far this year it helps this song to become the group’s latest top 20 hit, replacing “I Was Wrong”. It is a great ballad with strong vocals from 2AM members.

18. (+2) Brown Eyed Soul – 비켜줄께 (I Will Move Aside)

Album: Brown Eyed Soul double single “I Will Move Aside/Blowin My Mind”
Comment: Brown Eyed Soul’s “I Will Move Aside” is at No. 18 this week. Brown Eyed Soul returns after two years and 5 months with a double single. The songs included in it are the title track, “I Will Move Aside” and follow up number “Blowin’ My Mind.” “I Will Move Aside” is a R&B ballad number with lyrics about telling another person about leaving a loved one’s side coolly. The song starts off with Jung Yeop, Young Jun, and Sang Hoon’s emotional vocals and ends with Naul’s passionate voice. Brown Eyed Soul just released their second double single “Love Ballad/Never Forget” this week. Expect to see a new song from them soon.

19. (-3) Beast – Shock

Comment: This is the title track of Beast’s second mini-album, “Shock of the New Era.” A synth segment reminiscent of a heavy metal guitar riff mixes well with a brief but heavy and fun rhythm. 20. (New) 8Eight – 이별이 온다 (Breakup Is Coming)

Music + Lyrics: Bang Shi Hyuk
Album: 8Eight mini-album Vol. 1 Track 2
Comment: 8eight, the top mixed group in Korea, has returned with their first mini album, The Bridge. They have collaborated with Bang Shi Hyuk once again with title track, “Breakup is Coming,” a sad ballad about a couple who has just separated. 2PM member, Nickkhun is to star in the music video for this song. It debuts at No. 20 this week.
